With all the stresses of life, a good vacation is something that is essential to recharge and refuel. Most of us have been to places that take your breath away. Below are a few places you can travel this year that will surely amaze and excite you. From Spain, all the way to Colombia, each of these travel destinations has something truly unique that makes each one special in their own way and are sure to take your breath away.

  1. Spain

Spain takes the top spot on our list due to the variety of activities and cultures across the entire country. From running with the bulls in Pamplona to visiting the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain is packed to the brim with exciting and unforgettable experiences. An area of Spain that tends to have rave reviews is called San Sebastian. This coastal town features authentic Spanish culture. An area called "Parte Vieja" still has the narrow streets and shops that they did hundreds of years ago. A tradition in Spain is to hop from bar to bar eating a few tapas and having a couple of drinks. It truly is an amazing experience. Not to mention that Toro Luna watches was inspired during a study abroad trip in Spain.

Number 2 on our list is an island in Indonesia called Bali. The famed Island of the Gods has been on numerous top travel destinations lists over the last couple of years. The scenery and culture are nothing short of breathtaking. The island has a mystical vibe with sprawling beaches and water so clear you can see the bottom. From rugged coastlines, volcanic hillsides and lush rice terraces this Island is one of the most diverse places in the world. There is world class surfing, diving and numerous historical and archaeological attractions for you to visit.

  1. Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Amsterdam, commonly known as the Venice of the North, is the capital city of Netherlands. Its name derives from its location as dam of the river Amstel. Amsterdam is filled with canals that stretch through the entire city. Transportation there is a breeze with many people opting to take the bike taxis. Some must sees in Amsterdam are the Anne Frank house and the Van Gogh museum. It really transports you back in time and put yourselves in the shoes of the people living back then.

Canada makes our lists because of its vast and rich natural beauty. With the bolstering of their new prime minister, Justin Trudeau, Canada has risen to one of the best places to live. Canada’s landscape features powerful rivers and waterfalls, its most famous is the Niagara Falls which also borders the United States. Our neighbor to the north has many similarities to us both technologically and economically and is one of the best places to visit this year.

This country has turned a new leaf when it comes to its image. Long gone are the days of the “cocaine capital” and now its society is booming. Bogota is a major epicenter of this change with countless new hotels, restaurants, and craft breweries. The gold crown of Colombia is Cartagena which is one of the most historical colonial cities in South America. From amazing street art to even better food, Colombia should be the next destination on your travel guide.
