Toro Luna's Story

In 2016 two college students, with high hopes realizing the sky is the limit, set out to create a lifestyle watch brand that envisioned a mix where boldness crossed elegance. When thinking of a name for the watch company they were looking to start, one of the founders was walking past Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain on his way home. He saw the elegance of the crescent moon strategically placed right above the towering 577 foot iconic church. Having been in Barcelona for a number of months, the name “Toro Luna” meaning “bull moon” in Spanish clicked. Throughout history the moon has been largely attributed to many different cultures and religions as a symbol of prophecy, inner peace, worship and astrology.

The idea was to tie in the Spanish culture of luxury into this brand, and the “Toro”, is the other piece to the Spanish way of life. Spain is most commonly known for the running of the bulls each year, which began in the early 14th century in northeastern Spain, where the Spaniards would transport their cattle to sell to market, and men would use competition to see who could get their livestock from point A to B the quickest. This is the founding of the run with the bulls, and men would run and have their bulls follow them to these markets. It quickly caught on, and has been engraved in Spanish tradition and culture for hundreds of years. It is quite known that the running with the bulls is one of the boldest decision a man can make in his life- as many die every year from trampling.

Toro Luna Watches represents a mix of both, where bold meets elegance- the Ying and the Yang. The bold representing the risky, on the edge lifestyle that the Spaniards thrived on whereas the Yang represents the elegance of the moon, as well as the symbolism attached to it. The two together present this perfect combination of persona we all have inside of us, yet sometimes do not exemplify to our fullest capabilities its full potential.

All of our products have our precious Toro Luna logo engraved in metal on the dial of the watch- the crescent moon in precious silver metal, as well as the bull in precious silver metal with gold horns representing luxury and power. We strive to create an engaging brand with our customers to make them feel apart of the mission we set out to create.
